# API reference

> Endpoints, authentication, and response conventions for the Tilion REST API.

Send requests to `https://back.tilion.dev`. This reference documents request fields, response bodies, and errors. For runnable examples, start with the [quickstart](https://docs.tilion.dev/guides/quickstart.md).

## Endpoints

| Task | Reference |
| - | - |
| Create and manage browser sessions | [Sessions](https://docs.tilion.dev/sessions/sessions.md) |
| Interact with page elements | [HTTP browser control](https://docs.tilion.dev/sessions/driving.md) |
| Read page content | [Fetch](https://docs.tilion.dev/reading/fetch.md), [Extract](https://docs.tilion.dev/reading/extract.md), [Scrape & crawl](https://docs.tilion.dev/reading/scrape-crawl.md) |
| Search the web | [Search](https://docs.tilion.dev/reading/search.md) |
| Run browser tasks | [Agent tasks](https://docs.tilion.dev/automation/agent-tasks.md), [Templates](https://docs.tilion.dev/automation/templates.md), [Workflows](https://docs.tilion.dev/automation/workflows.md) |
| Check usage and allowances | [Billing](https://docs.tilion.dev/account/billing.md), [Rate limits](https://docs.tilion.dev/account/rate-limits.md) |

A session retains cookies and storage between requests. Reuse it for related operations and delete it when finished. Browser time is metered until the session ends.

## Conventions

* Unless specified otherwise, `/v1` routes require `Authorization: Bearer <api key>`. Viewer pages and WebSocket routes use short-lived session tokens.
* Session IDs contain `sess_` followed by 32 hexadecimal characters. Tab IDs contain 32 hexadecimal characters.
* Session timestamps such as `created_at` and `expires_at` are Unix seconds, represented as floating-point numbers.
* Responses include `X-Request-ID`. Include this value when contacting support.
* Error bodies contain `detail`, which can be a string, an object, or a validation-error list. See [Errors](https://docs.tilion.dev/account/errors.md).
* Examples use `ph_live_...` for an API key and `<token>` for a short-lived token.
